Humans & variations
Life Span : 80-90 years old
Home Planet : Earth-1, Earth-2, or other planets.
Humans are the exact same as you know them ! Beings made of flesh, who lives about 90 years. They don’t have anything specific to themselves other than being very respected and/or feared among other species, mostly for their colonial background that affected the whole universe. The poorest populations live on Earth-1, which is now heavily contaminated due to pollution, while richer populations were able to get on Earth-2, an artificial planet created by humans to prevent over-population.
Variation 1 - Cyborgs
Life Span : 80-90 years old
Home Planet : None
Cyborgs are humans who unfortunately lost a limb or an organ that later were replaced by a prosthesis. If a human has over 40% of their body replaced, they will be legally recognised a Cyborg. Cyborgs are recognised as disabled in most states. They can earn financial help to maintain their health and prosthesis.
Variation 2 - Vampires
Life Span : 400~ years old
Home Planet : Rona (The Red Moon planet)
Vampires are a small group of humans who chose to leave Earth-1 to go on Rona. After living there for a while, the Red Moon’s emissions seemingly increased their life span, making their cells last longer and get stronger. Vampires all obey under the Vampire king’s orders. It’s common for vampires to leave Rona when they get bored to go travel through the universe. Vampires do drink blood, but for ethical reasons, most of them chose to drink “artificial blood” to fulfill their needs.
It is pretty common for vampires to have hyperpigmentation at the tip of their limbs.
Variation 3 - Evodaptar

Home Planet : None
Evodaptars are genetically modified Humans. Through artificially accelerated mutations some Humans gained a tail, a patagium, longer ears, longer limbs, scales, etc… All of them are the fruit of illegal experimentations made in the mega-colonization era, or their direct descent.
Robots & AI
Life Span : ∞
Home Planet : None
Robots are AIs with a material body. AIs are only a chip called an AI Board that constitutes the entirety of their being, as long as it is not destroyed they can technically live indefinitely. They have their own “mental space” called Inner System, this is where they go when they are turned off, in the form of an avatar reflecting their true self. The avatar and the material body are not necessarily similar.
The status of robots is bleak as some consider them like persons and others like machines.
Saumurians
Life Span : 120-140 years old
Home Planet : Saumure
Saumurians are anthropomorphic fish creatures. They are very peaceful creatures who sadly suffered from a violent war followed by a genocide, due to human colonization. Their name comes from the abundant quantity of salt in their oceans, turning the water into brine. In unknown circumstances, the Humans forfeit against the Saumurian during the war, leading to their victory.
Saumurians are overall hardworking people who nowadays live peacefully, trying their best to rebuilt their life after such a life changing event.
Saumurians are also wonderful alchemists who carries a lot of their history and beliefs through artifacts.

Codacies
Life Span : 130-140 years old
Home Planet : Tingua
Codacies are humanoid creatures living among three kingdoms ; The Ice Kingdom, the Steam kingdom and the Water Kingdom. They mainly eat seafood and fish. They’re heavily connected to water spiritually.

Leidenvin’s Huskies & Anthrocanids
Life Span : 70-80 years old
Home Planet : Leidenvin
Leidenvin’s Huskies are a breed of anthrocanids resembling bipedal huskies who live on the icy planet: Leidenvin. Leidenvin is a complicated planet to live in, as the ice is melting faster than ever, due to a bubble expanding near the planet’s core, creating underwater lava ravines as the planet crust tears apart. Many Huskies create scouting groups in order to access new technologies and resources, hoping they can somehow leave the planet and reach help their people from outside. Sadly, barely any Huskies managed to leave.
Anthrocanids is the name of the species as a whole. Multiple breeds exist across a multitude of planets due to a common ancestor that once tried to extend its territory and then adapted to their new environments through centuries of evolution.
Every breed of dog is possible.
Sylcites
Life Span : 550 years old
Home Planet : Vidiohla
Sylcites are sexless beings made out of wood. They have proto-organs but no bones. They come in a variety of leaves, flower and wood types that make all of them look very unique on their own. Sylcites are dependent on a symbiotic relationship with a plankton in their air that acts as their immune system, leaving their planet is therefore possible but those who came back were sick and eventually died. This led to many of them believing in a stronger deity tied to their sacred tree, who was trying to prevent them from leaving the planet.
Sylcites wedding and marriage doesn’t work the same as ours, since a singular Sylcite could get married to themselves, or up to 4 people if they wished to. Marriage is often a ritual that occurs before cutting, which is the Sylcites reproductive method.
Space Jerboas
Life Span : 30-35 years old
Home Planet : Maedhir
Space Jerboas are Jerboas that were placed on Maedhir by human scientists many years ago to observe how they would evolve in an environment where they are the only vertebrates. They are bigger, as they’re about 40cm and 50cm tall, and live longer than average earth Jerboas. However, they’re all doomed to die, as an asteroid will inevitably crush their planet and kill over 90% of its population. They are artistic and joyful creatures who focus on creating a safe society to live and raise their children in.
Star Children
Life Span : 10.000~ years
Home Planet : None.
Star Children are sexless beings born from star flares. They follow the same logic as stars and molten matter do. Their appearance mimics the star they are born from, most of them being red because red giants are more prone to be unstable. They are some of the only beings capable of traveling through space unprotected. Not much is known about them, since they are a rare occurrence but Nebula Space provides custom outfits to prevent damages to infrastructures and others. They're also able to drop their body temperature to 0°c for a bit, which turns them into obsidian.
Gloopies
Life Span : 40-50 years old
Home Planet : Unnamed
Gloopies are colorful and silly looking aliens. They eat organs, however they’re pretty “pacifists” as they will always ask their food’s consent before killing and eating them.

Synopsis
In a future far from ours, humanity colonized space. Numerous are the nations that nowadays have completely adapted to humanity. Many civilizations considered "aliens" were deported and excluded from their homelands, and for some of them, all they have ever known are humans and their superiority.However, not all intelectuals support or take part in these acts of terror; many are those who choose revolution over opression.Nebula Space is an intergalactical organization specialized in the rescuing of endangered civilizations, living creatures and individuals. Currently, the organization estimates that over a million agents and over 2,000 states are working along its side.Among all the crews, our story focuses on one of them, the Manta. Jobs and fonctions among Nebula Space
Captains
Captains are the leaders of their crew/team. They are the only one who can access all the information tied to their crew/team members. They are responsible for anything that could happen to their crew/team members as well as their ship, reputations, etc…
Becoming a captain often takes time for a Nebula Space member.Second-in-hand
Second-in-hand are here to assist and discharge the captain with some duties.
Second in-hands always have another role among the crew.Pilots
Pilots are the ones who drive the ships. There are often two of them aboard a ship, but for bigger ships it can be up to 3 to 4 members.
Pilots can also be Mechanics.Mechanics
Mechanics are the ones who maintain the integrity of the ship and its machinery such as the reactors, the coolers, the hull, etc…
Mechanics can also be Pilots or Scientists as long as they have expertise in their field.Medics
Medics are the doctors aboard the ships. They’re responsible for the crew member’s health, which implies they have access to documents and thus know everyone's allergies, intolerances, or illnesses.On-Ground Actors
On-ground Actors are often fighters who will go to the most dangerous places in order to secure the perimeter and save civilians.Scientists
Scientists take care of studying new grounds and collecting information for Nebula Space. They also work with Medics in order to document possible lifeforms such as viruses but also animals and resources for further use.

Secretaries are those who take care of the paper work. They don’t embark aboard any ships and work from the HQ of Nebula Space. Each Secretaries have their own assigned team/crew and directly discuss with them (or at least, their captain) on a frequent basis.Double-Agents
Double-Agents are secretly sent aboard different teams/crews in order to supervise the members. They’re often sent after multiple reports against one crew.
Double-Agents always have another role among their crew.
About the Manta...
It is stated multiple time through the story that the "Manta Team" and "Manta Crew" are two distinct entities.Team : Group of 3 to 7 members of the organization.Crew : Group of 5 to 20 members of the organization. In order to switch from Team to Crew, you need to have in you team : a captain, a medic and a scientist.
In some instances, a mechanic can be required. Scientists are allowed to fill this role.Team have less abilities and freedom in their action. They need to wait for clear order from HQ in order to act.
Crews can take decisions freely, it is up to the captain to choose whether or not they should act. Captains who lead a crew can also make a Ship Assignment Request in order to rent a ship for their teammates. This offers them more comfort and autonomy in their movements.For a while, Seanide, Jermio, Héma, Elm and Tayanne were stuck with the "Team" status, since they had no scientist among their group. Once Luzen arrived, the Manta Team officially switched to Manta Crew. However, when Elm disappeared a little bit after this, leaving the crew without a medic, no departure order was ever filled. The Manta was still declared as a crew, though not fitting the legislations.Adding up to this, the Manta is also the name of the ship the Manta Crew travels in. It got its name from its shape that looks a lot like a manta ray.

Since then, Tayanne has been living and working for Nebula Space, her new home.

Luzen is a distant and reserved member of the Manta Crew. Born in Gouesnou, France, on November 3rd 2374, Luzen was rescued by Nebula Space as he was orbiting in space, in an emergency escape pod. According to him, he was working for a crew of scientists in a space station. This station apparently blew up in a collision with a meteorite, and he is the only one who managed to escape. After a few month of recovery, he joined the Manta Team under Sęanide's request, and managed to promote the group to the Crew rank.

Jermio is a confident and grumpy member of the Manta Crew. Born on Maedhir, on April 1st 2406, Jermio's planet was sadly blown up by an asteroid. He is one of the few lucky Jerboa's that were rescued by Nebula Space, but in the tragedy, he lost his wife and three children. During this time, he met Sęanide, who was a member aboard the ship that rescued the few Jerboas. The two of them quickly became friends after Jermio had joined Nebula Space.

Sęanide is the strong and passionate leader of the Manta Crew. Born in Pinch’Mun, Saumure, on March 15th 2361, Sęanide is a survivor of the Saumurian genocide and war. Moreover, he was one of the leader of the resistance, making her a known and loved figure on her homeland. She choose to leave Saumure to work for Nebula Space, as she didn't wish to take part in politics. She devotes her life to the protection of people and spent years building the current Manta Crew.

Shortly after meeting Sęanide and Jermio, she desolated the planet and her kingdom to joined Nebula Space. She quickly discovered herself a thing for driving ships, and decided to become the team pilot.

Nerion is a polite and caring member of the Manta Crew. Born on Leidenvin, on May 23rd 2396 Nerion was rescued by the Manta Crew after sending a sort of distress flare out in space. Nerion was part of an exploration team back on Leidenvin, a planet in constant blizzard. His teammate, including his older brother, all died in unknown conditions. Once he was saved, he quickly asked to join Nebula Space and the Manta Crew. His abilities in mechanics didn't go unnoticed, he was affiliated to the Manta as a mechanician.

In exchange for this job, Elm requested to be provided with multiple medical and scientifical tools in order to work and their own research, tied to the creation of a specific medicine. Not much is known about their past. They ran away from Vidiohla, their home planet, which is very uncommon for Sylcites to do.

Junyi is a scientist and prisoner of Nebula Space. He was born on October 22nd 2375, on Earth 2. After an altercation with the Manta Crew, Junyi's researches were requisitioned by Nebula Space. Junyi had many unallowed items in his possession, and had made multiple morally reprehensive tests on his own daughter's corpse. Junyi was sentenced to work for Nebula Space's secret services, as his abilities were too useful to go to waste. He later on was affiliated to the Manta Crew to keep serving his sentence and take care of Luzen's worsening sickness.
